My Homework - Week 2

Here is a picture of Ms. Vikki's horse with her 10 day old colt for you to enjoy.

Vikki's Horse and her Baby (Don't think this is Mr. Fast Haul though :)

I am typing here just like Ms. Vikki told me to before I place an img src. If this is the only time I am going to get to Yakk..... Nevermind, Let me get on with this Lesson. Hurricane Floyd - September 14, 1999. This is a picture of Hurricane Floyd - September 14,1999 and it has made me be a lot more respectful for the enormity of Mother Nature. One of the worst natural disasters in history left behind a staggering array of damage. Here is some of it:

51 Fatalities blamed on floodwaters.
More than $6 billion in estimated flood damage.
1.5 Million customers without power during the worst of the storm.
54,000 Homes damaged or destroyed or left uninhabitable.
7 Dams destroyed.
30,500 Dead hogs.
2.2 Million dead chickens.
737,000 Dead Turkeys :(.

I live in Florida and did not see this photo until December 1999. Now when a hurricane is spotted, no matter it's location, this is the mental picture I always get of it's potential.

Another view of Hurricane Floyd just a day later. This hurricane was on a mission. The destruction mentioned in the last photo is only statistics. If you live anywhere near the Eastern Coast of the United States you know what these puppies are capable of. I grew up in North Florida and as a child I just assumed that hurricanes were a 'fact of life', and for us they are! Oh! Wait, I need a picture about now :) Hurricane Floyd - September 15, 1999 *whew* almost rambled on and forgot that I was not actually needing to 'make that necessary list' and 'get to the stores' before all the batteries and bottled water was all bought up :) That's just the lingo we learn when a hurricane has been predicted for our area. If you are not 'prepared' then you will be left 'out in the cold' so to speak. That's not something we are really familiar with in the south. Cold? If you have the time go look at an even bigger and better view of this picture. Bigger Floyd That was amazing wasn't it?... What??? You didn't check to see if my link worked? That's OK! I understand! I've also got to get moving on this assignment and quit Yakking or I'll be late posting! Wait!! Squeeze that browser window in a just a bit and watch this text replace itself. It's cool the things we learn from Ms. Vikki and how much we can learn if we just 'try' :).

I found a website once that allowed you to create different things. Sorry! I don't have a clue now where it was :( We surf and we find things and they all seem easy at the time and then BAM! Never to be seen again! This is what I created there: Just Plain Jane wanting to be Up in Lights This image is one I've had saved for a long time and had no idea how I would ever use it.. WaaaLaaaaaaa! It's Used now :)
This class is teaching me so much! Thanks Ms.Vikki! and debbieT!!
To Everyone: Good Luck in all your present and future endeavors!
